Khalta Rice
Ingredients
3 cups Egyptian rice
1 / 4 cup sugar
3 cubes chicken stock
3 and a half cup of water
1 / 4 cup butter
1 / 4 cup raisins
1 / 4 cup pine nuts
the nuts for garnishing
:
1 / 4 cup peeled hazelnuts
1/ 4 cup peeled almonds
Way:
In the pot, put butter on low heat
Add rice and stir until the rice color becomes light brown then turn heat off
Put sugar in a pan on low heat until it becomes light brown
Add sugar to the rice and leave until it cools down (still no fire)
Add raisins and pine after the sugar cools down
Boil water and add the chicken stock in another pot
add the water to the rice and turn on the fire
cook for 2 minutes on high temperature and then lower temperature and cook like ordinary rice
In a pan put vegetable oil, and fry nuts and almonds until color turns golden
put nuts on top of the rice when serving
